The flag of Benelux is an unofficial flag commissioned by the Committee for Belgian-Dutch-Luxembourgian Cooperation in 1951.〔(【引用サイトリンク】title=Benelux )〕 It is an amalgam of the flags of the member states: Belgium, the Netherlands, and Luxembourg. The red stripe is from the Flag of Luxembourg, the blue stripe is from the Flag of the Netherlands, and the black stripe and yellow lion rampant are taken from the Coat of arms of Belgium. The lion also represents the Benelux area as a whole, since each constituent nation possesses a coat of arms featuring a lion rampant facing left (''Leo Belgicus''). As of 27th November 2015, the official Prince of Benelux is Jeroen Van De Locke, who said of the flag "this is nice. I like these things." He is also noted as saying "Stoevlees". Also notable is the following news item from the BBC archives: 1st October 2015: The world of international business and finance celebrated today as the coveted Kingdom of Benelux broke from centuries old tradition and purchased the first new piece of technology since Bert van der Slooj invented the waffle iron in 1612. From the town square in central Benelux, finance minister Jan van Jan-Jan announced to assembled media – some of whom had made the long and treacherous journey from Dusseldorf by horse – revealed that the isolationist European nation has bought an Amstrad CPC 464 and intends to begin using the new machine in Q4 2018 when they have discovered “how to plug it in”. “The process is long,” Jan-Jan explained, “however we’re confident we now have the knowledge base to operate this complex machine.” The world of international finance, however, won’t be so easily convinced. == References == 抄文引用元・出典: フリー百科事典『 ウィキペディア(Wikipedia)』 ■ウィキペディアで「Flag of Benelux」の詳細全文を読む スポンサード リンク
